KeymasterRon,
I really don’t know what to say. Saw them grooming Fall Lake trail and down to Piseco on C8 yesterday morning (March 10).
Trail connecting Piseco Lake to Evergreen was pretty good as well. It’s a bit annoying they don’t groom that last little bit down to Evergreen Lake just before where the creek cuts through, but hey….
Gotta say the several times I’ve ridden around Arietta this winter were (mostly) good experiences. But then again, I only ride them when the snow is deep and I’ve heard enough favorable trail reports to give it a shot. We’ve all had rides when the Arietta goat paths were horrible beyond belief.
I wish they could find a way to groom that short section from the north end of Powley Road to Route 10. That got so bumpy and rough, I just said screw it and rode the roadside all the way to Spy Lake trail. I’d rather shave a bit of carbide and slides than break something in the suspension.
Looks like our short season is drawing to a close. The ole 4-TEC is nearing 14K miles, so it’s time spring order a replacement. I’m a bit loathe to plunk down big coin on a sled I barely ride for 2 months now-a-days. But I still love to pile up the miles and smiles.
If these winters get much shorter though, it may be time for me to ditch it and find more ways to enjoy the other 10 months of the year…

KeymasterThey were grooming all last week. Not sure why the groomer would sit over the weekend.
Anyway, I do thank you for your kind words about my website. It’s always a lot of fun for me.
Enjoy doing the trail reports almost as much as I enjoy riding.

KeymasterI was tempted to take a Sunday afternoon rip to Perkins Clearing after work.
Good thing I didn’t bother.

KeymasterMorehouse was awesome both times I rode it this week. Evergreen Lake was in good shape. No signs of the stream eating away at the east end, yet….
Yes, it was nice to see the regular pathway reopened.

KeymasterThanks Pete,
Last week, I had gotten to the point where the tracks stopped on Upper Pine… And I didn’t have the kind to sled to make it any further.

KeymasterLooks like groomers are out today…
Saw fresh groomer marks on the Mountain Fitness Trail 8 webcam.

KeymasterNothing worth more than a few minutes of riding today in town , so I got to it. 🙂

KeymasterI’ve heard 8 inches of ice on Adirondack Lake.
Haven’t been on Indian Lake yet. But I know there were people ice fishing near the Town line last weekend, but hadn’t gotten any ice thickness readings from them.
Did get a few seasonably cold nights near zero, so that has certainly made some ice.

KeymasterI removed the camera when the gym was closed and they cancelled their internet.
Will have to see whether their internet is back online.

KeymasterSo, this would be a different detour than last year?
I usually don’t make it down to Morehouse more than a few times a winter, so I don’t have much “muscle memory”.
Thanks,
Darrin
Trail C4 is closed at intersection , Hami 14 ( C4 & C4C) . At trail closed sign make a left onto C4C to French Road. Make a right and ride shoulder of road to Detour sign ……Making a left will put you back on trail C4.
Future changes are possible which will be posted on this forum!
Thank YouDarrin @ ilsnow.com
KeymasterHey 500ss,
Wasn’t sure I wanted to re-boot the forum.
But now I’m glad I did. Good to see some old faces here.

KeymasterI bought my 4-TEC before the Super El Nino Winter of 2015-16.
Only put on 280 miles on and it still smelled like “new sled” in my garage the following summer.
Guess it added another season to the life of the sled – and I might get another season tacked on at this rate.
Almost safe to say I won’t be buying a new sled before next winter.
