Hey Polecat
Just missed you guys Sat. Heard 3 shots and was waiting for mega mule to come running by! Found log on windshield though with NO hat teeshirt or Ftroop memorabila! Someone dragged deer out from above our old tent camp on that Wed. or Thurs. Maybe the guys in the tent ? Sorry I never got to your camp, getting old i guess had all i could do to drag sorry ass out Next year for sure. Haven’t been out yet we didn’t get the sidexside and the 2012 is still apart . There’s a blowdown in the trail just above Karls camp hope to get it this coming week. Say hi to Ftroopers and see you on the trailiciclealParticipantFreestyle
I,m also thinking about maybe trying the transpoter lite. Would like to ride one first though. Probably doesn,t have an electronic throttle though Also wonder about the mileage with a 400 single and 1 carb. I remember the old SRV with a 540 and 1 carb. = gals per mile!February 2, 2021 at 6:26 pm in reply to: Morehouse Trail Closure, Logging in progress…..again! #17739iciclealParticipantPolecat
So our trails suck ach! Try singing the grooming song while your riding ( Dukes of Hazzard s theme song) You can make up your own words! then maybe you won’t fall asleep. (That kind of happens to 80 year old snowmobilers ) Skeeter and I got the whole town yesterday and with the fresh snow today we’re letting riders have the first crack at them . be out Fri. The bypass trail through the old Monk pro. is now open , so you don’t have to run French Rd. It’s only good for this year though, as the new owners are in the process of forming their opinion of snowmobilers. We’re in a potentially bad position as there are 3 new land owners between junc 114 and Harryville. Gagilino Prop. Please slow down and quiet down and respect the LANDOWNERS ! otherwise we could all be riding the RT 8 trail! The detour trail is twisty and has many LAND MINES in it ( little K Harris lingo) so be especially careful. There are plenty of young riders and couples with small kids riding on the weekends so SLOW DOWNiciclealParticipantRon
Jan and I rode down to Buck Pt. and beyond towards Ohio on Mon afternoon (25th) . The Ohio guys did a fine job from Mosq. Hill to the junction. Wonder what the drag looks like after seeing some of the boulders they hit! Looks like the big groomers took over after Buck Pt. Great job Ohio!iciclealParticipantRon You’re a young 80 though! Maybe those mudholes will freeze up this weekend and solve our problems for awhile . We’ll probably do Mosq. hill tomorrow and check them . Wayner (Sketter) can post the conditions. Maybe see you at the Ohio Fri.
iciclealParticipantThanks Ron Trails are in good shape but we’re still dealing with the logging down from HC 14 Talked to the loggers Sat. and they don’t know when they will finish. Didn’t thinks we could gain access till they we’re done. Still trying to gain the new landowners permission to reopen the bypass trail we used last year. As of now we’re using French Rd as a detour. Town has winged back the banks and it’s very rideable. Mosq Hill trail is in fine shape but still a problem getting into Ohio. Maybe this weekend will remedy that. Hoping the slush on Evergreen will set up also. Crossed it Monday nite and you didn’t want to slow down or stop!
iciclealParticipantThanks Ron
Great news on Mosquito hill trail! Hat’s off to Ohio boys that’s some tough country in there! Hope to see you and F troopers on the trails soon AliciclealParticipantGreat to see the forum up and running again ! Was through Tug Hill yesterday on the way to Miller’s meat in Lowville. A ton of sleds riding there, didn’t look all that bad. In Morehouse the section of trail that was closed at HM14 last year due to logging is open again thanks to the landowner. We also have a new bridge over the 4 mile leading to the Mosquito hill trail. Now all we need is SNOW. Happy New Year to all
