Made it to Mosq. Hill Thursday. There is a new bridge at Bochen Lk outlet as the beavers are in there also. It need s runners on the decking and markers on the sides but is ok to use , just take it slow. At the Hill it is an iceskating rink from bank to bank! Ice was solid to walk on but we didn’t take sleds down to it . Hoping trappers well get in now . Evergreen trail was left unbroken so if anyone uses it and encounters problems please let us know. Would wait till Ron says Evergreen is ok though. Happy New Year F Troopers

Panther Mtn. stream is cut out into the lake about 30 feet wide and the whole length of its east shore. The stream was roaring all nite but it did skim over where we cross it as the temp did get down to 14 above.
The dam is wide open but I hope when the stream calms down the owner starts to close it or we will have mud holes that will swallow a sled whole at the west end.
RonJanuary 15, 2023 at 9:29 am #20900Darrin @ ilsnow.comKeymasterI drove through Morehouse yesterday and was SHOCKED at how little snow there was, even there. Large swaths of bare ground…

January 29, 2023 at 9:43 am #21179Ron RybickiParticipantHeard from friends who went thru Morehouse to Haskells in Ohio On C4 and used Evergreen Lake. ( lake was OK, a little mud on the est end) It was a little scratchy once they got past the fire co. in Morehouse. The rest all the way was great for early snow conditions. They met Iciceal Al grooming and of course thanked him and the boys. The Jones RD was great and the Ohio boys broke the banks down along the Wilhurt RD. Haskells was mobbed. They waited for only about a 1/2 hr for a table. They did not go near the Ohio Tavern as they knew what it would be like.
Other friends took the trail C4C down to Mosquito Hill but did not go past as the Ohio club did not even cut it out yet or for that matter did not cut out C4 to Jerseyfield Lake Rd. The trail was great to the Hill.
See my report for Ariett’s trail.
RonFebruary 27, 2023 at 11:20 am #21753500ssParticipantWorked my way to Morehouse trails from Powley rd on Sunday. Trail from Powley to Piseco was pretty rough, but passable. As usual once I hit the Morehouse trail system all was good. Only wish I had more time to spend out that way before I had to head back. I am rarely disappointed when I hit Morehouse trails…

We picked up about 2ft. Tues. Had to go home yesterday, but will be back this A.M. for the rest of the week. Hope to keep the corridor ok and also get to Mosquito Hill. Saw Rob and Darrin maybe we can get to ride with you this weekend if it’s not to busy.March 19, 2023 at 5:27 pm #22347Ron RybickiParticipantRode thru Morehouse to Ohio and as usual they were sweet all the way into Ohio. Took S46 over the Nobolsboro bridge and up to C4B towards Ohio. These trails were great. Let about 10 antique artic cats go by here. They were heading for a party on Black Creek Lake that afternoon. They ranged from what I remember to be from the 60’s to maybe the early 70s. Real cool but we heard in Haskells that night that a couple had to be fixed on the trail. They were all carrying spare parts so I heard. Stopped at the Ohio Tavern just to grab a couple and then headed to Rockys on Hinkley staying on C4B. We jumped on the lake at the camp ground on the south side and plowed thru about 6 to 8 inches of slop all the way into Rockys. Every time we went over a Island sand bar or the shore at Rockys you had to plow thru at least 6 feet of water slush. I’m sure there was ice under us but did’nt look back and kept the hammer down till we slid up the bank on each end. This is the reason my wife will not put her sled on Hinkley any more but not so much the slush but that one year we took Hinkley and saw a running water hole just to the right of the main track on the north side before you went up the bank right behind Baileys gas station on Rt 365. This is where they main channel is as they drain the lake. She is done with this Lake.
All the trails around Ohio and Morehouse were great this past Saturday and probably should be OK for one more ride next week end. These trails are in the woods and not exposed to the sun. The club closed the trails around Poland and Cold Brood (open fields) as they did not get that much snow and the rain killed what they had. Over for now.
