    Hey Darin
I saw all the pics of the trails you rode and I was wondering if your sled was over heating. Those trails you were on looked more mud and bare dirt than snow.
Also My friends are thinking of riding Moose Plains tomorrow and was wondering if you can drop sleds at the Ranger Station and go park at the Brown Farm and walk back or can a sled get up on the banks for some lube and ride this 1 mile cause I’mm sure the road is bare and sanded.

PS With the temps we just had I’m sure there are mud holes on Evergreen Lake at the west end where its very shallow and muddy. That Adk. muck generates heat and usually is open in several spots.

I showed pictures of the worst stuff, so I wouldn’t give people the idea conditions were better than they actually were.

Most of what I rolled over was reasonably white.

My sled didn’t come close to overheating and the slides were wet and happy when I got back to the truck.

As for Moose River Plains, I suppose your friends could drop the sleds off at the trailhead about a mile past Browns, then park at Browns.

But geesh… Are your friends really that hard up to ride Moose River Plains on what’s sure to be marginal conditions at best? Not even a heavy dusting of new snow either to at least make it look nice.

    Darrin
