Looking at the web cams for Oxbow and the Ohio Hotel its great to see sleds in the yards. Obviously the sleds at the Bow are using Lake Pleasant, Sacandaga. and Oxbow to get there. I’m sure some are coming from Perkins. I would not recommend Piseco or really any lake yet unless you absolutley know where your going. You’d better know the inlets and outlets or your going for a swim
Last week the Club Pres. for the Pleasant Riders, as well as Ohio and Salisbury and I’m sure other clubs here in the wilds of the Adk’s are looking to you folks out there riding the trails to stop and throw aside the many branches laying on the trails. This would be a great help to these clubs.
We have’nt been up to camp yet this year and I am chomping at the bit to get up there. I would say, maybe this coming week end, how ever the weather does not look that inviting. We have to take sleds to get into and out of camp and to do it in the rain is not to pleasant any more. Done it to many times. We’ll wait.
Any way–Looking for Icicle Al to start reporting about Morehouse trails. Looks like on face book–Ohio and Salisbury are out mainly on the main road trails with the big heated machines. Good for them. At least they are trying get sleds between the Salisbury Club and Ohio business’s so you should be able to get a ride down there..
    Nuff for now

Happy New Year Ron & Ftroopers. All the trails are open and semi groomed. Having equip. problems. Was to Mosquito hill Sat. and it’s in pretty good shape with tracks going into Ohio. Did Sheriffs & Evergreen Sun . Tracks xing Evergreen and the General was the 1st to x on Dec. 26! Again ride lks. at your own risk but you probably know Evergreen better than anyone ( except the General). Maybe see you at the Oxbow Fri. Icicle Al

Wont be up this week end as you know we have to get in and out of camp on a sled. RAIN both days Me and Wifey are not interested in getting wet. Good to hear Morehouse is out as usual. Any sign of Arietta. A week ago the general tried to get to the Powley Rd thru Sheriff Lake and was blocked by large tree across the trail. I told him and several others from Evergreen to call the high way super. He’s in charge of the grooming here. He does’nt know what the trails are like cause he only can rely on riders telling him.
So was there only sled tracks past mosquito hill or did it look like maybe with a lot of luck Ohio had a drag hooked on. I wont hold my breath this early yet.
Keep up the great work at least in Morehouse. We sure do appreciate you guys.

Just sled tracks as far as I could tell . I guess Ohio got a new Side xSide so maybe they will use that to go from Buck Pt. to the hill. No sign of Arietta at the upper turn.

Rode Tues.13th from camp to Evergreen and across to the Panther Mt. Stream . Didn’t like the look of it so turned around and went towards town. Not to bad till we got to junt.114 from there on some bad washouts. Turned around at Mt. Home Rd and headed back home. Trail to Sheriff Lk turnaround ( Arietta trailhead ) has some major washouts on it also. Haven’t been to Mosquito Hill since last report . Waiting for the ok to start using the sxs. Check town website for more info.

    Thanks Icicleal Al
See Darrin’s ride from last Saturday comments. I guess most of the trails in the woods up here are about the same. Mud holes that, unless they are bridged are there till the next freeze up which might be this week. And the DEC will not let clubs build bridges in the Forest Preserve. They are afraid that the clubs dont know how to build them and the state is liable for injuries if some one falls off one. I talked to several riders last Friday in the Bow and every direction you try to ride you are going to encounter mud holes or wash outs. I see Darrin turned around on the old trail 6 at the end of the Powley Rd (Now C8A). Those mud holes are always there until we get below zero to freeze them. That rain and warm did’nt help us at all up here.
I see that Rod groomed thru Sherriff Lake and Evergreen Park . Did not talk to anyone that rode here. My friends from Evergreen went to the Salisbury Club this past Sunday. I’ll find out this week end how they made out. Saw a lot of trailer in the parking lot on Rt 10 on way home Sunday.
We did not try to ride this past week end at all. Spent most of the time digging out.
    All for now
