Snow will continue through Saturday, light to brief bursts of moderate.
Pleasant Riders Snowmobile Club has reported Powley Road reopened. Riding this weekend is limited fare and AT YOUR OWN RISK.
Do your homework to check on trail closures and have a Plan B, C or even D.

In the case, only one word will suffice: BURNT!
March meltdown is done for now. As of Thursday, leftover pack is thin with bare areas on melt-exposed locales. Several inches to a foot-plus remain in the woods around town. Snow bowls still hold up to 18 inches or greater.
Vast majority of trail sections are holding onto a hard, icy base but some rocks poking through. There are places that have been washed out from rain and melt water.

With receding floodwater and more snow on the way, it may become possible to reopen some of these trails over the weekend. You’ll need to do your homework and consult with ALL of your trusted sources.

Afternoon temperatures into the 50s and lower 60s this week did plenty of damage. But central Adirondacks didn’t get a several inch gully-washing rain to COMPLETELY flush this snowmobiling season down the drain.
Weekend Outlook
I’m not trying to convince anyone to give it one more whack. But meaningful snow is on the way to spruce up die-hard hangouts for the weekend. Snowmobiling season is done for most, but not for all.
Assuming we get at least several inches of snow, the best bet would be to launch from places that have direct or near-direct access to seasonal road snowmobile trails. AGAIN, you’ll need to consult with your trusted sources on trail closures/possible reopenings.
As for lakes, they remain ice-covered. But the easy and smart play is to avoid riding on them.
Bottom line is that snowmobiling will be limited fare riding AND at your own risk in ilsnow land this weekend.
