Wilder Performance

Unsubstantiated rumors have been going around that NY State may cancel the upcoming snowmobiling season. This has caused many people to hold off re-joining their snowmobile clubs, which is a HUGE mistake. The State’s dire financial straits have prevented many snowmobile clubs from receiving trail fund money generated from LAST WINTER. Our snowmobile clubs need money NOW to ensure proper preparation of the trails for winter.

The best and most direct way to get money to your clubs for this winter to join your snowmobile clubs TODAY or as soon as possible. You can join snowmobile clubs online at https://membership.nysnowmobiler.com/clubs My best rule of thumb is to join the clubs whose trails you regularly ride. If you encounter trouble joining online, you can call 888-624-3849 x101 for help.

As loathe as I am to say it, this is the “new normal” as COVID-19 has been normalized into our society. The safety protocols have been in place for months and we know the drill by now. As such, there is no reason for the State to justify closing snowmobile trails. Just consider how many people FLOODED ilsnow land to go hiking this summer and it hardly raised the needle in new COVID-19 cases.

The biggest pitfall (other than lack of snow) would be the continuation of limiting restaurant capacity to 50% through the winter, causing a lack of seating on weekends. This should give you another reason to ride mid-week if you can. As if the promise of smoother trails and less throttle-jockey yahoos wasn’t appealing enough. 😉

Onward and upward toward winter!

For the ilsnow nation,

Darrin
