Going, going… Update 4/11/19

Wilder Performance

For a while in early April, it seemed like winter’s corpse would never go away.

But, of course, the strengthening spring sun always wins in the end. And when it does, that snow goes away quickly!!

Remnant snow pack ranges from several inches to a foot or two in the shady woods around Indian Lake . But exposed areas around town and near the highways are getting bare:

With this kind of snow pack remaining in the south-central Adirondacks, I’m sure you could ride your snowmobile into Perkins Clearing from the north end from Mason Lake parking lot this weekend:

But I heard from a good source the gates into Perking Clearing have been swung shut. It’s probably more to keep automobiles out, but it’s some information to consider before you decide to give it one last attempt at glory this weekend.

Not sure what 538/Newcomb trail could do for you, considering the first 3-4 miles had been plowed most of the winter.

So…this will be my final commentary on snowmobile trail conditions for the 2018-19 season. It was a fun run for me with around 3700 miles clicked off, probably a new high for myself.

I hope you had lots of great times as well. 🙂

Snowarriors Landowners Appreciation Pancake Breakfast

Indian Lake Snowarriors would love to have people at this breakfast to show our appreciation for the land owners who allow snowmobile trails to cross their property each winter. We’ll even have a fun 50-50 drawing to help pay down the new (to us) Newcomb trail groomer which did get a workout in making the ole 538/Newcomb trail as smooth as could be.

Until next winter….
