As some of you already know, the Indian Lake Snowarriors are in the process of acquiring a new (to us) groomer for the Newcomb trail.
This will help us keep the Newcomb trail nice and smooth for snowmobiling and avoid lengthy breakdowns and subsequent periods of rough trail like we had later on last winter.
So here’s an update on the process:
Grant
The Indian Lake Snowarriors were awarded a grant in the amount of over $83,000 to purchase a refurbished groomer. The catch is, we have to spend the money first on purchasing a groomer, then get reimbursed by the grant. The Snowarriors don’t have $83,000 on hand, so we are applying for a bridge loan which is a common process for snowmobile clubs that have received similar grants.
Raising funds
To date (November 4th), Snowarriors have raised $3,740 toward our goal of $20,000 to help with purchasing the groomer. For those of you who can’t help the cause with volunteer work, this is a great way to be a part of what we are building with our club. PLEASE, any contribution is appreciated!
