I’ll give you the great news first: The Indian Lake Snowarriors have been awarded $83,000 by NYS Parks and Recreation to purchase a refurbished groomer for the club!
Now, the challenge: The Snowarriors need to raise $20,000 more to purchase this groomer.
I’m no mechanic. But I understand when terms like “coolant leaks” , “hydraulic fluid leaks” and “blown bearings” are talked about liberally at our club meetings, it’s time to go out with the old and in with the new, or at least, newer. It’s getting to the point where our 30 year-old Tucker 2000 is being held together with spit, bailing wire and duct tape to continue its operation. That ain’t a good thing!
Remember how the Indian Lake half of the Newcomb trail was rough as s#it for much of March? Well, the Tucker suffered a significant breakdown and was on the shelf for at least a couple of weeks.
Now, we have an opportunity to make sure that doesn’t happen anywhere as often.
Call to action: Head over to www.gofundme.com/snowarriors and make a donation. I have already thrown $100 into the bucket. If we get many people to contribute, we can fill the bucket.
Do it now! I know how busy life gets and how easy it is to forget. Please be as generous as your circumstances permit.
