Judging from what I’ve heard, the Indian Lake side of Moose River Plains was rough last weekend. Inlet was grooming their side of Moose River Plains the best they could with the low snow.
Indian Lake town trails are in poor shape with the lack of snow, especially the C8/Sabael trail and C8 out to Cedar River Headquarters. The 2-4 inches of snow we got Sunday night freshened thing up, but was inadequate to fill in the ruts and cover the rocks.
If you’re a local or have a second home up here, sure you can bop around here and find a few nice spots. But I wouldn’t suggest trying to start a 100+ mile ride from town, or try to make it to Indian Lake from Inlet.
Perkins Clearing probably offers the best riding conditions around here.
The cold weather is a godsend for the lakes, making ice day and night. Snowmobiles have started to venture on the ice. But the risk is all yours.
Weekend Outlook:
At this time, it appears that Saturday’s major nor’easter should miss ilsnow land by a decent margin. At least it will stay cold…
For the ilsnow nation,
