Wednesday’s storm delivered, big time! Final storm total was 9.5 inches at the ilsnow.com storm center. Speculator sat in a heavy snow band most of the afternoon and evening and ended up with over a foot. It was a dry, powdery snow…but not air fluff. EXCELLENT STUFF!
This picture was how it looked outside my house when the snow was starting to thump in the afternoon.
Snow cover is in the 16-24+ inch range around Indian Lake and Speculator and well over 2 feet into Perkins Clearing. This changes everything!
Weekend outlook:
The groomers had worked many of the trails before Wednesday’s storm and will have Thursday and Friday to work on the new snow. The narrow woods trails around Piseco and Arietta desperately needed this snow to cover the rocks and terrain bumps, and now we got it. We’re sitting pretty going into a weekend for the first time in a while. Come and get it!!
