Trail Report 1/25/13

Wilder Performance

Indian Lake ended up with 2+ inches of fluff today. Cal went riding around Indian Lake village this afternoon and told me the trail riding was marginal. Straights were bony and snirty and the corners were extremely icy under the powder. He said the corners were like riding on a kevlar vest, even with studs and new carbides.

Wells reported 6+ inches of snow, so it’s pretty safe to say that Speculator got more snow than Indian Lake on this one. Even so, this powder will not cover the large rocks or adhere to the icy base underneath very well.

D.R.A.G. of Speculator has been out grooming their new snow:

Have fun out there, but be very careful! Ice is lurking under the new snow, especially on the turns…

More snow is expected Sunday night into Monday. We’ll take anything we can get at this point.
