A couple of weeks ago, I said we would need a strong finish to February to have any hope for March. It appears that may be the case with the NAO-/AO- configuration forecast to set up for the later half of February:
Toward the end of February, there would be no true Polar Vortex or Arctic air over North America, but the blocking high over Hudson’s Bay would force storms to undercut the block through the United States. That may result in a succession of snow events that could significantly build up the snow pack over the Adirondacks before March 1st. We may have some excitement in the ilsnow.com storm center within a week or two. 🙂
