Just curious. We normally see tons of posts throughout the winter about grooming/conditions etc in the Town/tree farm area and reports of what's going on up there. Haven't seen any this season, just wondering why?

Fogexp has been doing some good reports though! Thanks!

Well bob c and I used to post grooming reports but bob is busy this winter and I'm not grooming as much as before. Paul Allen and John Buckley were good posters but I have a feeling they have just been busy. I do know that some of the new boys are using Facebook more for the grooming reports but I will check into to it for you. I will try to get them to post or send something to john foley so he can do it.

Thanks guys. I totally understand people being busy and figured as much. I was just curious because there was so many posts from groomers in the past on here. It was always a fun and informative read to see the new posts from the groomers themselves in the past so figured I'd ask.

So sounds like the club has a new/different team this year?

As Aaron stated we have been very busy this year training new groomer operators and working on equipment and doing all the paperwork for the new Pisten Bully PB100 which should arrive w/in a few weeks.
I have been working remotely and have not been in Speculator but once this year for 1/2 a day. (typing this from home not Speculator )
The other groomers have stepped up their hrs and have been doing a fantastic job! As always Big Mike leads the pack w/ total hrs on the trail. Most of our grooming post are on FB just because we try and post many pics. I also update the trail conditions page on the DRAG website.

Thanks

Facebook and other social media are replacing the old fashioned bulletin board.

Unfortnately.

I do not like Facebook. It is disorganized and full of clutter. Once you are on Facebook, you tend to get to much off topic gartbage, friend requests, notifications, etc. and you have to work hard to turn that junk off. There are much more privacy concerns.

A board like this is much betterr for "serious" discussion and information.

Thanks for the update Bob. At least it's not a big snow year so far so a good one if you have to be away. Good to hear from you! I honestly posted this just because I was wondering what everybody's up to. Was alittle worried you guys weren't on the team anymore. Been a slow year on the board this year lol!
I've tried to avoid Facebook and have never had one but it's getting to a point I may need it lol!

Hey Bob C ,
been wondering myself where you been.
Rich
grooming has been good ,from what I've read from John Foley on here.

you don't really need facebook .too much crap on there.
i'll never have it or use it.
kids waste too much time with these phones.
but if it helps with productivity in business ,good.

Rich

With limited snow you have to be conservative with grooming. Better to have a few bumps than to wear out the snow with lots of grooming. However I think trails are excellent considering what we have to work with.

sorry guys. with the ride for the cure eating up my weekend I didn't get the time to do much.
I will say that we groomed 5 times this weekend and it was like grooming sugar.
it lasts maybe 20 sleds if they go easy then it pushes to the sides.
Maybe some fresh stuff on the way

Spike the spy lake trail was sweet yesterday. Those rocks between oxbow lake and sacandaga lake seem to be growing bigger and reproducing.

we figured over 400 sleds went through the oxbow trail. we had 92 pass through on the way to ohio & back and with very little to work with we can't bury them.
Tim and crew did a nice job on spy. That was a huge undertaking when we started it but it paid off in the end product
Give us all about 8 inches of snow and we can make things really nice not that they aren't at least fair now
